VII. The tools of the trade

• From this chapter, choose the tools that you used in your class, and describe the activities that you used them for.
• Classify all the tools in this chapter into useful and useless in our environment. Provide the reason why you made such distinction.
• Make three collages of the nine TVYL presentations (pics). Reflect upon the top three chapters you would incorporate in your own practicum and you would leave the others aside.

VII. The tools of the trade

From this chapter, choose the tools that you used in your class, and describe the activities that you used them for
We used finger puppets, we used them for teaching the farm animals, each one in every finger at the same time that we show the finger puppets we said the sound of the animal and then the name of one.
Picture cards, we used them for showing the relation between the word and the picture, for example if the topic was the numbers we show a picture with the number one or two and the children had to said the number but in English, it was an easy way to relate the number with the picture card.
Toys we used them to get the attention of the children and made an interesting class, the topic was the moths of the year and the toy in this case it was a teddy bear, it said the correct pronunciation the moths of the year but with a funny voice because we needed to get the attention of the children.
Usb memory with mp3 we used them for sing a song and tried to have a good environment in the classroom, the most useful song was the alphabet because is an easy way to learned the alphabet and at the same time we enjoyed the class.
Classify all the tools in this chapter into useful and useless in our environment. Provide the reason why you made such distinction.

This tools are very useful in English class we can teach with them in an interested class at the same time use the structures for the new topic or to review one, during the class we have to be able to learned everything because all the new methods are good for teaching to children. It is difficult to teach all the class in the same mood or method because for the children are boring do the same activities so we have to choose another tools for using to teach.

Cardboard boxes
Transparencies
Toys
Building blocks
Cassette recorders
Cassette

This kind of tools are not the best way to teach, some of them are used for ice breaking so when we are teaching a new topic it could be annoying or destroying the class because the pupils will be able to participate in the activities an if this tools are for example toys they would make noise in the class. The cassette are too old so we don’t use them anymore, we have to evolve. At the same time we have to be updated in technology teaching.

In the first collage I’ll choose  the Three little pigs to use in the class, because the messages It is amazing with a great lesson for example this kind of story has a different way to learn it is important to have a good way to do our work, in this situation with the kids because sometimes they look for an easy way to learn and we have to learn everything as possible.




The second collage I’ll choose Pinocchio because this short story has a great teaching for example we never have to lie in our life, but sometimes we do, and we will see what kind of things happened when we are liars and how we can solve the lies that we have said.

  


The third one I’ll choose The Ugly Duckling, in this short story we learn about our real friends, and during our life we have found people with bad opinions about our lives and this kind of situation we have to learn how we can move forward without behind hurt with the bad comments, so we need to teach this kind of things in our class because it is necessary to share short stories with real problems.
